Abstract

529,249. Stretchers. HAYWARD, H. J. May 12, 1939, No. 14204. [Class 108 (i)] A stretcher comprises a rectangular frame to one member of which straps are attached which can be passed under a patient while lying on the ground or on a bed, and attached to another member of the frame thus rendering it unnecessary to lift the patient bodily on to the stretcher. The frame 5 has inner longitudinals 6 to which are attached a number of straps 10 which are passed under the patient after the frame supported by legs has been placed in position over him, the free ends of the straps being then attached to buckles on short lengths of strap 11 on the opposite frame member. Another strap 18a is passed through an armpit and under the shoulder and attached by a buckle to a short strap length 16a on a cross-member 13a, similar straps 18b, 16b are provided for the other shoulder. Straps 19a, 19b are arranged to be passed under the thighs and secured by buckles to short straps 17a, 17b respectively on a crossbar 13b. The cross-bars 13a, 13b are adjustable along the bars 6. Specifications 25631/97 and 1481/05, [both in Class 108], are referred to.
