528,290. Projected images having a relief effect. MENDEZ, C. F. May 3, 1939, No. 13210. [Class 97 (i)] The image 4 projected on to a screen 3, viewed by reflection in a cylindrical mirror 5 to produce a relief effect, is relatively elongated in a vertical direction so that the horizontal elongation produced by the mirror restores the correct proportions to the image 6 perceived by the eyes E. The screen image 4 may be obtained from a normal film image 1 by means of a cylindrical projection lens system 2, or the film may carry elongated images, either produced during printing from normal images, or by the use of a cylindrical lens in the camera. When the elongated images are produced in the camera, the whole image area of each film frame may be used, so as to increase the horizontal field of view.
