Abstract

527,127. Cloth washing &c. apparatus. WHITELEY, E. G. April 1, 1939, No. 10225. [Class 15 (i)] Apparatus for washing, dyeing and drying cloth formed into an endless web comprises a slotted tube over which the fabric is passed and through which liquid is drawn continuously by a pump and returned to the vat in which the tube is placed. The fabric enters the vat 2 over a roller 4 and passes over rollers 4a, 4b, between which is the slotted tube 5. The web then passes through a centring device 6 and thence between pressure rolls 7, 8, 9, to a roller 10f whence it returns to the vat. The liquid is withdrawn from the vat by the pump 17 and passed through a filter in a chamber 19 with an overflow 20.
