Abstract
525,682. Bearing bushes. CLEVELAND GRAPHITE BRONZE CO. Jan. 25, 1939, No. 2589. Convention date, Nov. 22, 1938. [Class 12 (i)] [Also in Group IV] A bearing is formed of a resinous substance having embedded therein a reinforcing of glass fibres continuous throughout the area of the bearing, and a heat repellent material such as mica adjacent the bearing surface. As described, particles of finely divided mica are embedded in resin reinforced by two glass fabric layers and the whole is moulded and bonded to thin semicylindrical steel shells having a serrated inner surface under heat and pressure sufficient to polymerize the resin. Graphite or molybdenum sulphide may also be incorporated adjacent the bearing surface.
