Abstract

In a plain bearing, at least the surface layer consists of a synthetic plastic, e.g. superpolyamides, polytetrafluorethylene and polymethylmethacrylate, having incorporated therein molybdenum disulphide in the form of dispersed particles. The molybdenum disulphide may be uniformly dispersed in the form of extremely small particles or it may be incorporated in a localized layer or zone. Alternatively, the bearing may comprise two or more layers of synthetic plastic, of which at least the layer forming the bearing surface contains a high proportion of molybdenum disulphide.
