Abstract

525,646. Adjustable seats. KELLNER, A. Feb. 24, 1939, No. 6199. [Class 52 (ii)] Sliding vehicle seats are adjustably fixed by a pawl 19 and recesses in an angle member 6 on the floor the pawl being spring-controlled and actuated by either of two side levers 18 and a cross shaft 15 mounted in seat frame 14. Two angle-members 4 secured to the seat carry guides such as a pair of vertical and horizontal rollers 9, 12, Fig. 3, engaging guides beneath the floor. The guides for the rollers 9 consist of two angle members 7, 8 and for the rollers 12 the angle-member 6 on a wood strip 5 beneath the floor. The guides may be encased to prevent draught and the rollers are preferably mounted on ball-bearings. The back of the seat is adjustably supported on a cross shaft 25 having four eccentric supporting surfaces 26 on which the seat rests selectively.
