Abstract
524,879. Drawing curtains and the like. MALLENTJER, V. B. M. Feb. 9, 1939, No. 4318. Convention date, April 12, 1938. Addition to 519,839. [Class 52 (v)] [Also in Group XXX] The apparatus of the parent Specification is modified in that the motor 26 is journalled at 28 in a casing 27 to which it is connected at its lower end by a tensioned spring 29 which presses the friction wheel 30 on the upper end of the motor shaft against a friction disc 31. The curtain or like cord 35 passes round a pulley 34 on the disc spindle 32, the pulley being accommodated in a depression 33 in the casing 27, and the casing thus suspended is guided in vertical grooves. The motor 26 is of the universal type, and reversal of current through the rotor is effected by a switch comprising two push buttons 17, 21, Fig. 2', bearing on the ends of an insulating rocking lever 18 co-operating with contact springs 19-20, 23-24. Pressure on one of the buttons to cause its contact spring to make the corresponding circuit automatically raises the other button to break that circuit. An adjustable spring-pressed brake pad 41 bears on the disc 31.
