Abstract
524,476. Coating metal surfaces. KERR, R., and MACNAUGHTON, D. J. Jan. 31, 1939, No. 3223. [Class 82 (ii)] Tinplate or tinplate articles are treated to prevent staining or discoloration by first degreasing and then immersion in an oxidizing solution containing chromic acid or a chromate, or picric acid or a picrate. The resulting surface may in some cases be lacquered.
