Abstract

524,283. Flexible containers for liquids or powders. HUBNER, G. Jan. 25, 1939, No. 2643. [Classes 18 and 66] A flexible bottle or container for spraying liquids, Fig. 1, or powders, Fig. 2, comprises a body portion 1 of thermoplastic cellulose derivative or artificial resin attached to a rigid head 2 or 10 provided with a spraying nozzle 3 or 14, the part of the body adjacent to the head being formed with moulded corrugations 5 or 12 which may be formed by the action of internally and externally disposed heated rollers. The body may be formed from acetyl cellulose or polystyrol or polyvinyl resin by a dipping process, and the head of hard phenolformaldehyde resin. The joint is afforded by molten shellac disposed in a groove 4, Fig. 1, receiving the end of the body, or 11, Fig. 2, covered by the shrunk-on container wall. The nozzle of the powder sprayer of Fig. 2 is provided at the inner side with a pad of glass wool &c. enclosed in a cage 16. Specification 510,995 is referred to.
