Abstract

1,103,534. Spray-producers. B. L. MEURER and W. L. FISHER. 17, June, 1966, No. 27066/66. Heading B2F. [Also in Division A5] Apparatus for atomizing and spraying two incompatible liquids comprises a first resilient container 10 provided with a neck portion 13, a second resilient container 11 also provided with a neck portion 13, the containers 10, 11 being so located adjacent one another that the neck portions 13 cooperate to form a circular screw-threaded neck 15, a nozzle 33 secured to the neck 15 and provided with separate outlets 39, 40 for the liquids from the containers 10, 11 respectively, a flexible plastics conduit 41 extending from the container 10 through a hole 20 in the neck portion thereof to the outlet 39, and a further flexible conduit 42 extending from the container 11 through a hole 21 in the neck portion thereof to the outlet 40. The conduits 41, 42 are ribbed internally so that when the containers are squeezed air is forced from the upper part of each container through the holes 20, 21 and atomizes each liquid. The nozzle is connected to the neck 15 by an adapter 25 which has tubular projections 26, 27 frictionally engaged in the holes 20, 21. A rib 35 on the nozzle engages a groove 31 in the adapter. The containers may be secured together by a container tray (12), Fig. 2 (not shown), by a flexible frictional band (48'), Fig. 8 (not shown) or by lugs or grooves on their cooperating flat surfaces, Figs. 4 and 6 (not shown). The liquids, e.g. boric acid solution and hydrogen peroxide, may be inhaled directly from the nozzle 33.
