[Class 81 (ii)] A cabinet for supporting , dental apparatus is provided with an instrumentholder which automatically moves into an accessible position when the cabinet is opened. The cabinet comprises a hollow column 10 which may have arms for carrying a bowl, a tray, and other fittings, and contains instruments (such as a hot-air syringe and a cautery) which rest in a holder 28. It is provided with a closure 17, hinged at 18, which can be closed when the cabinet is not in use, but can be opened, as shown, to an extent limited by an adjustable stop. When the cabinet is opened, the instrument-holder 28 slides up guide rods 24 into an accessible position as shown, being automatically drawn up by a cable 34. The. air conduits and electric leads connected to the instruments hang as shown at 39 and are weighted with pulleys 46 which rest on cushions 47 when the instruments are not in use ; and when the cabinet is closed the conduits or leads 39 are slack so as not to impede the opening of the closure 17. In a modification, Figs. 11 to 22 (not shown), the instrument-holder is lifted by linkwork instead of the cable 34, and instead of sliding on rods 24, it is guided by rollers engaging a plate and is held in position by a latch ; the instruments 39 are oriented by lugs engaging slots in the holder 28; and the hot-air nozzle can be connected with atomizer bottles.
