523,265. Delivering fuel to furnaces. UNGARISCHE RADIATOREN FABRIKS AKT.-GES., BECK, S., and FORGO, L. Dec. 29, 1938, No. 37782., [Class 78 (i)] In a charging-device for feeding fuel to furnaces, in which a reciprocating throwing-device projects the fuel in the opposite direction to the movement of the grate, baffle surfaces are fitted to promote even distribution of the fuel over the width of the grate : Fig. 1 shows a mechanicallyreciprocated hopper door b feeding fuel periodically to the thrower d which delivers it to the far end f of the moving grate, the ash being finally deposited in the receptable h. Fig. 3 shows a pair of V-shaped baffles o<SP>1</SP>, o<SP>2</SP> which distribute the delivery from the door b towards the sides of the thrower d. Fig 5 shows the thrower provided with backwardlybent wings d<SP>01</SP>, d<SP>02</SP> which may be used either with or without the baffles shown in Fig. 3.
