Abstract
390,666. Mechanical stokers. BABCOCK & WILCOX, Ltd. and ROUSHAM, E. H., Babcock House, Farring- don Street, London. May 28, 1932, No. 15212. [Class 51 (i).] A shoot 2, Fig. 2, for delivering fuel from an overhead bunker 3 to the hopper 1 of a mechanical stoker is suspended by V-shape slings 4 and is traversed to and fro over the hopper to distribute the fuel evenly by a pin 15, Fig. 3, attached to an endless chain 6 passing over sprocket wheels 7 and driven by gearing 8, 10. The pin 15 is provided with a roller 16 having spherical surfaces engaging with grooved guides 17 on the shoot. The shoot is also provided with a pair of rollers 13 mounted in supports 14 and engaging with a tube 12 extending across the front of the hopper to take part of the weight of the shoot.
