Abstract
523,166. Table covers ; table mats. BARON & SONS, Ltd., J., and BOWELL, H. W. Dec. 24, 1938, No. 37553. Drawings to Specification [Classes 52 (v) and 128] [Also in Group VIII] Material for use as table covers or table mats comprises a fabric woven with two layers of coarse cotton weft threads, a filler layer of similar warp threads and cotton binder warp threads interweaving with the two wefts and of higher count than the filler warp threads, on one face of which a thin layer of rubber is applied, e.g., by spreading, to form a non- slipping surface. The warp threads may be of 1's count two-fold. The rubber coated surface may be coloured or embossed. A layer of artificial leather may be applied to the unrubberized surface and the edge bound with a strip of this material or tape and secured by stitching.
