523,107. Disinfectants ; hair washes toothpastes. MOSELEY, ,J. F. Dec. 23, 1938, No. 37413. [Class 81 (i)] A bactericidal composition comprises a colloidal solution in water of a chlorinated hydrocarbon in conjunction with a colloidal silicate, silica or silicic acid, alcohol and a wetting agent. A suitable preparation consists of silica or hydrated sodium metasilicate, perchlorethylene, sulphoricinoleic acid or sodium lauryl sulphonate, alcohol and a soap emulsified in water by means of a colloid mill &c. A hair shampoo may be prepared by mixing this composition with sulphonated lauryl alcohol and resorcinol monoacetate. A toothpaste is prepared by mixing the composition with magnesium carbonate, precipitated chalk and sulphonated lauryl alcohol or sulphonated sicinoleic acid.
