Abstract

A gelatinous cosmetic base, e.g. for cleansing jellies, comprises water, at least one higher fatty acid or an ester thereof, higher unsaturated acid ester, higher aliphatic alcohol, wax or higher hydrocarbon and a surface-active agent which is a polyalkylene oxide ether of a higher monohydric aliphatic or araliphatic alcohol. Foaming agents and a detergent, e.g. the sodium or triethanolamine salt of polyoxyethylene lauryl sulphate may also be present.ALSO:A gelatinous cosmetic base comprises water, at least one higher fatty acid, higher aliphatic alcohol, higher fatty acid ester or unsaturated acid ester, wax or higher hydrocarbon and at least one surface-active agent which is a polyalkylene oxide ether of a higher monohydric aliphatic or araliphatic alcohol. Additional ingredients include filmforming substances, vitamins, detergents, foaming agents, skin-nourishing agents, hormones, astringents, skin-softening agents, bleaching agents e.g. H2O2 and germicides.
