Abstract

522,763. Alloys. EATON MANUFACTURING CO. Dec. 15, 1938, No. 36598. Convention date, Dec. 24, 1937. [Class 82 (i)] An iron alloy, particularly for cylinder liners for internal combustion engines, contains 8-16 per cent. of nickel, 3-6.5 per cent. of copper, 0.5-10 per cent. of chromium, 0.5-4 per cent. of molybdenum, 0.25-2 per cent. of manganese, 0.25-3 per cent. of boron, 1-3 per cent. of carbon, 0.5-2.5 per cent. of silicon, and up to 0.5 per cent. each of sulphur and phosphorus. The sum of the chromium and molybdenum is not less than 4 per cent.
