Abstract
521,714. Valve circuits. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd., and FILBY, F. G. Nov. 22, 1938, No. 33952. [Class 40 (v)] A relay responsive to the voltage across the filaments of indirectly heated valves is used to cut out a series resistance in the filament circuit and to prepare a circuit for an alarm relay which is operated by relays in the valve plate circuits and which prepares the alarm circuit. The relay FR is arranged to energize when the valve filaments FI-F4 have become sufficiently hot for their resistance to be reduced to their normal hot value. The relay at contact FR1 removes resistance R2 from the filament heating circuit and prepares a locking circuit for relay AR which energizes and locks when relay VIR in the plate circuit of valve VI has energized. Relay AR prepares the circuit for alarm relay AL which relay is energized when any one of the anode circuit relays V1R-V4R releases. An additional contact FR3 in the anode supply lead may be provided to ensure the operation of relay FR before the plate circuit relays so that chattering of the alarm relay is prevented.
