521,573. Fastenings for fabric. ROBINSON & SONS, Ltd., CASCELLOID, Ltd., GILLIBRAND, C. G., and PALLETT, A. E. Nov. 22, 1938, No. 33998. [Class 44] A fastening for securing the end of a piece of fabric, for example securing a catamenial appliance to a belt, comprises a member having two apertures 2, 3 the former of which has a lateral slot 5 extending towards the latter. The edge of aperture 3 may have teeth 4. In use, the fabric is passed through aperture 2, pulled into slot 5, and then passed through aperture 3. As shown, aperture 2 is opensided and defined by a pair of flexible limbs 1 with terminal apertures 6. A tape, not shown, may be threaded through apertures 6 and secured by stitching, the tape being secured to a belt or other article. Any pull on the fabric and tape causes the limbs 1 to be pressed towards each other to effect a firmer grip on the fabric in slot 5. Alternatively, the device may be used with a complementary member having a slot 9 by which it is secured to a supporting tape 10, the member having a pair of spaced limbs 7 with terminal hooks 8. These hooks may be detachably engaged with the limbs 1 as shown in Fig. 3 so that any pull causes a gripping effect on the fabric in slot 5 similar to that described above.
