[Class 43] An elastic cord 10 for securing the end of a necktie, is formed as by knotting, witl a number of loops and one pair of free ends 10c, 10d is se cured to the wide end of the tie by passing the ends through the folded back portions 20 and knotting, when, aftei the narrow end 24 of the tie has been passed down between these ends, another loop, (e.g. the bottom loop 10a) is pulled down and fastened to a button, for example a shirt button, so drawing tight the cord, to cause ends 10c, 10d to grip the narrow end of the tie. The uppermost knot may be hidden by a bead 22, and the bottom loop can also be provided with a bead 10b, for ease of handling. The ends 10c, 10d, may be secured detachably by a press stud, Fig. 4 (not shown) to the outside of the portions 20, or detachably or fixedly secured to the inside thereof, Fig. 5 (not shown). Provision may be made for adjusting the position, or relative position of the ends 10c, 10d.
