Abstract

438,355. Necktie retainer. FITZPATRICK, H. D., 94, Hope Street, Glasgow. April 2, 1935, No. 12128. [Class 43] A knotted tie is retained in position by an elastic support, such as a rubber ring 7, secured by a metallic fitting to a collar stud, and through which the ends of the tie are passed after knotting. The rubber ring may be gripped between the head 3 and a thin dished member 4, Fig. 1, or between the head and a screw-on collar 9, Fig. 7, or it may lie around the base of a ring 15, Fig. 10, formed by pressing. It may be secured by a bolt ring 18, Fig. 11, in which case it can be applied to studs of the swivel-head type. The loop may be formed of a length of rubber, whose ends are gripped by an ornamental button which will show in front of the tie, by a tubular ring 20, Fig. 12, by the ring 15 of Fig. 10, or by wire, Fig. 13, wound on the ends and formed into a loop 26. The rubber may be covered with suitably coloured silk or other thread. The Provisional Specification states that the support may be made of metallic wire, formed as a spring or partly as a spring, and permanently or removably secured to the stud,
