[Class 140] [Also in Group IV] The perforated oscillating guide drum 13 of apparatus for the wet treatment of fibrous materials in web or sheet form as in the parent Specification has arranged within it a non-perforated roller 5. It may be stationary with a plane cylindrical surface, or it may have longitudinal ribs 16 thereon. Alternatively, it may oscillate, and if so, the oscillations must be irregular or different in phase direction or velocity from the oscillations of the drum 13. The body 5 and drum 13 may be coaxial with one another. The web 1 to be treated is passed over guide rolls 2, 3, 14 so arranged that the length of the web in contact with the drum 13 is a relatively large part of the immersed length of the web.
