Abstract
520,660. Gas manufacture. ARNOLD, R. Nov. 17, 1938, No. 33416. Convention date, Dec. 7, 1937. [Class 55 (ii)] Liquid hydrocarbons are converted, without the employment of high pressure or temperature, into a non-condensible gas by drawing liquid hydrocarbon from an atomiser. A, together with atomising air, through the duct B of a cracking plant heated by an electric resistance coil C. The duct is heated to between 400‹ and 600‹C., and the carbon is converted into 'CO, a dry gas being obtained which is passed by a suction apparatus D to a cooler E and is forced by a compressor F into a storage tank G. Specifications 29021/11 and 104,822, [both in Class 55 (ii)], are referred to.
