520,607. Lamp reflectors. BRITISH THOMSONHOUSTON CO., Ltd. Nov. 15, 1938, No. 33206. Convention date, Nov. 17, 1937. [Class 75 (ii)] A bowl-shaped reflector 4 is divided by radial planes through the axis into panels 20 which are angularly displaced in the same direction about one edge in the normal vertical contour through corresponding angles so that the light is reflected laterally of the lamp filament 13 and its support 11 to avoid overheating without affecting the symmetry of the reflected beam. The angle of displacement varies, e.g., from 5 to 10 degrees from the bottom to the top of the panels so that a space free of reflected rays and of substantially uniform diameter is created about the axis of the reflector. The adjacent edges of the panels are connected by substantially radial parts 22.
