[Class 135] A pressure-regulating valve, of the kind in which the valve is opened by spring-loading means against the action of inlet or outlet pressure acting on a diaphragm directly connected to the valve member, comprises a valve casing 1 which is divided into a diaphragm chamber 3 and a valve chamber.4. by a body. portion 2 having a passage 5 by which the chambers communicate with one another and also a central bore 6 which communicates with the inlet passage 7 and is fitted with a tubular valve guide 21 of smaller diameter than the bore and formed at its lower end with an annular valve seat 22 concentric with an outer valve seat 23 formed at the lower end of the bore. Both valve seats may be. tapered. The valve member 26 comprises a metal disc with an undercut or similar recess to receive a rubber washer 27 and is mounted with limited play between shoulders on a valve spindle 25 which is a close working fit in the guide 21 and is secured to the diaphragm 13 adjustably loaded by a spring 17. The upper end of the central bore is closed by the valve guide which may be inserted either from above or below the body portion and secured therein by solder or screw means.
