Abstract

518,674. Supporting lamps ; searchlights. LAYBOURNE, J: H. Aug. 27, 1938, No. 25195. [Classes 75 (iii) and 75 (iv)] Current is supplied to the lamp of a searchlight by leads 13 connected to brushes 10 mounted in the searchlight pedestal and engaging collector rings .9 on a hollow rotatable vertical shaft 7 carrying a stirrup frame 6 supporting in bearings 5 the projector body 2. The rings 9 are connected by leads 14 passing through the shaft 7 to terminals 15 arranged in a switch box 16 on the frame 6 and the terminals 15 are connected by leads 19 to brushes 18 supported by a bracket 7 in contact with collector rings 20 secured to the trunnions 3 of the body 2. The rings 20 are connected by leads 21 passing through the trunnions 3 to the lamp and to other electrical devices such as an electric motor for tilting the body 2.
