Abstract

1371213 Counterbalanced lamp stands; brackets ARTEMIDE INTER S A 30 Sept 1971 [2 Oct 1970] 45624/71 Headings A4B and A4H [Also in Division F4] A lamp 9 is supported on an arm 7 articulated at 6 on an arm 4 and balanced by a counterweight 8, arm 4 being articulated at 3 to a stem 2 and balanced by a counterweight 5; arms 7, 4, and stem 2 are double and are electrically-conductive. A transformer 14 may be provided. Friction at the joints 3, 6 may be provided by a friction ring 18 thrust by a spring 17; by magnets; or by friction surfaces which transmit the current; or by the weight of the contracting parts. The arrangement may include further similarly articulated and balanced arms between arms 4 and 7. Stem 2 may be rotatable; or it may be fixed to a wall or ceiling. The lamp 9 comprises a perforated external shield 11 spaced from an internal reflector (10) to permit flow of air to cool e.g. for halogen lamps.
