Abstract

518,386. Washing dishes. BRITISH THOMSONHOUSTON CO., Ltd. Aug. 23, 1938, No. 24791. Convention date, Aug. 27, 1937. [Class 138 (i)] The door of a dishwashing machine com- .prises inner and outer panels, the latter having a vent opening therein, the inner panel having an aperture opposite to the opening, and a baffle being arranged in the aperture. The door comprises a framework 21 - 24 of channel irons, the irons 24 extending downwardly and being hinged at 28 to the casing of the machine. The outer panel 19 has at its top a flange 19c which is hung on the irons 23, and at the bottom it is fastened to the irons 24 by screws 30. The inner panel 19a is secured to the irons 23, 24 by brackets 31 and screws. The panel 19 has louvres 32 and the panel 19a has a , recessed portion 33 formed, opposite to the louvres, with an aperture 35. Around the aperture, sealing 37 is arranged between the panels, which at this location are secured together by T - headed screws 37a and nuts 38. A baffle 39 is secured behind the aperture 35 and in the recess 33 by screws 41 engaging the nuts 38. The lower edge of the baffle is spaced from the lower edge of the recess to leave a space 39a connecting the interior of the vat with the aperture 35 and louvres 32. The other edges of the baffle engage sealing 43. In a modification, the baffle is hinged at its upper end, and secured at its lower end by a spring stud. The central part of the door is reinforced by means of a metal framework which is tensioned by set-screws. Specifications 505,816 and 518,385 are referred to.
