Abstract
518,042. Elastic-fluid turbines. AKTIEBOLAGET LJUNGSTROMS ANGTURBIN.. Sept. 14, 1938, No. 26825. Convention date, Sept. 15, 1937. [Class 110 (iii)] On a double-rotation radial-flow turbine having at least one axial-flow blade system in series after the radial-flow system, the inlet passages are substantially parallel to the axis and the innermost radial-flow blades are nearer to the axis than the centre lines of the inlet passages. The inlet passages 3 are formed in a disc 5 which carries the axial-flow blade discs 17, 18 by means of pins 19 which transmit torque only. The inner radial flow blades are carried by a T-section ring 7 fixed to the disc' 5 by screws 6 or attached with radial freedom in a similar manner to the discs 17, 18. Overload passages 36 and bleeder passages 37 are provided in the radial-flow blade disc 10 and other bleeder passages 4 pass through the disc 5. Various modifications are described, in some of which the ring 7 is integral with the disc 5.
