Abstract

516,331. Thermal switches. GREEN (GEEGEE), Ltd., G., and GREEN, G. E. July 21, 1938, No. 21636. [Class 38 (v)] [Also in Group XIII] A switch 22, of the kind described in Specification 419,917, is actuated by contact of an inclined surface 30 with a press button 24, due to the difference in thermal expansion of an aluminium sole plate 10 and an iron pressure plate 12 enclosing the heating element 11 of an electric iron. The surface 30 forms part of a slider 26 which is adjustable by member 29 to set the .temperature at which the switch is actuated to cut off the current supply to the iron.
