Abstract

515,884. Gun sights. MILLWARD, H. June 22. 1939, No. 15554/38. [Class 92 (ii)] Relates to gun sighting devices of the kind in which the target field is projected by a lens system on to a screen on which the movement of the target can be followed by pointers movable over the face of the screen. According to the invention, a lens system 2 is provided at the front of a casing 16 and the screen 18 at the back of the casing is provided with target-image followup means such as adjustable, cross wires 20a, 20b and indicating scales 22, 23, additional angle indicators 25a, 25b being provided at the sides of the casing. The cross wires comprise spaced rods at the intersection of which the target image is enclosed by adjusting' the screws shown. Separate castings may be provided for indicating the angles of elevation and training one at the side of the gun for elevation angles and one above or behind the gun for training angles.
