515,865. Pyrroles; catalytic dehydrogenation. JOHNSON, G. W. (I. G. Farbenindustrie Akt.-Ges.). July 1, 1938, No. 19565. [Class . 1 (i)] [Also in Group IV] Pyrroles are obtained by leading vapours of pyrrolidines or pyrrolines with or without an addition of inert gas at a temperature of 250- 500‹C. over metals of the second group or their compounds. Specified catalysts are oxides of magnesium,'calcium, zinc, cadmium, and beryllium. They may be applied to carriers and activated by small additions of heavy metal compounds. The production of N-methyl-, alpha-methyl-, N-benzyl-, and N-phenyl-pyrroles is specifically referred to.
