514,805. Motor-vehicle change-speed gearing. PULSGETRIEBE GES. June 3, 1938, No. 16692. Convention date, June 3, 1937. [Class 79 (ii)] [Also in Group XXIV] An axle change-speed gear having reduction gears arranged behind the usual bevel gears 7, 12 is provided with a double dog clutch 17 having inclined front tooth faces preventing engagement in one direction of relative motion, the faces transmitting the load not being inclined so that once engaged the drive is positive in both directions. In the construction shown the bevel gear 12 is fixed on the shaft 6 carrying the sliding clutch 17, the loose gears 13, 14 on this shaft meshing with gears 2, 3 on the differential casing 1
