Abstract

514,439. Wireless receiving apparatus. ELECTRIC & MUSICAL INDUSTRIES, LTD., and PERCIVAL, W. S. May 5, 1938, No. 13435. Addition to 467,263. [Class 40 (v)] In a circuit for reducing interference as described in the parent Specification, in which a main high selectivity channel is controlled by an auxiliary channel of lower selectivity, increased attenuation of signals in the main channel is effected by utilizing pulses generated in the auxiliary channel to effect de-tuning in main circuit. The Figure shows a local oscillator V1 and a control valve V2 affecting the de-tuning under control of energy from the auxiliary channel applied to terminals T. Preferably the input filter is sufficiently selective to attenuate all the signals capable of passing the intermediate frequency circuit in the de-tuned condition. The choke L in the input of the control valve V2 is' preferably arranged to have a low impedance at the controlling frequency and a high impedance to the oscillator frequency.
