Abstract
513,017. Labelling-machines. FLOWER, A. L. March 30, 1938, No. 9743. [Class 73] In a labelling-machine of the kind in which vertically reciprocating gumming-pads detach the bottom label of a pile and transfer it to a position immediately above a bottle &c. where a finger engages the centre of the label while the pads are removed, the sides of the label being pressed into contact by presser pads, the bottle support and presser pads are arranged so that the pads are in contact during the period in which the reciprocating head performs the lower part of its motion. The bottle &c. 8 is mounted on a support 9 which may be adjustable for different shapes and sizes of bottles and is carried on springs 26. The pressure pads 17 are carried on arms 18 reciprocated vertically and furnished with extensions 19 having rollers 20 engaging cam tracks 21, 24. The vertical movement of the pads is sufficient to ensure their contact with the label while the container moves from the dotted, to the full line position, and back.
