453,206. Applying screw-caps to bottles. BARLOW, R., 28, Kingsway, London, and STUCHBERY, A. L., Chequers Works, North Circular Road, and STEPHENS, W. A., 68, Grenoble Gardens, both in Palmers Green, London. March 5, 1935, No. 6903. [Class 125 (ii)] A machine for applying screw-caps to bottles &c. comprises a rotatable capping head 7 which frictionally engages the cap 20, and a support 2 having a pad 18 for frictionally engaging the bottle. The period during which the capping head is at the bottom of its stroke is limited by a slot 9 in the link 12 and may be adjusted by adjusting the length of the link or the eccentricity of the pin 11, which may be mounted on a block in a radial groove in the crank disc 10. The head is driven continuously by a motor 4, and is reciprocated by a worm 8 which meshes with a toothed wheel on the spindle 9.
