[Class 144 (ii)] A tyre tread is formed with straightsided longitudinal ribs 8 and/or blocks 9 which are stepped down from the centre-line of the tyre on a flatter profile than the transverse curvature of the tyre casing. As shown, the tread faces of the ribs &c. may be sloped towards the tyre's centre line.
