[Classes 83 (ii) and 83 (iv)] In a method of making high pressure containers, a number of longitudinally-welded or seamless hollow bodies composed of sheet metal plates are superimposed and after subsequent heating to. forging heat are shaped by forging, rolling or drawing in such a manner that the individual layers are rigidly welded to each other so that they cohere and behave like an homogeneous body. The inner layer may be of corrosion resisting or heat resisting alloy. In a modified form, the end-portions only of the individual layers are welded together.
