[Class 122 (v)] A packing ring for axles &c. comprises a synthetic rubber &c. resilient non-porous ring having a tubular cavity 5 containing lubricant and communicating through passages 9 with a space around the shaft between opposed cups 3, 3<1>. A spring 10 may be disposed in the cavity. The ring is in one piece and provided with flanges 6, 6' clamped or slid- ,ably mounted between members 7, 8.
