Abstract

465,259. Shafts. HARDY, SPICER, & CO., Ltd., and SPARROW, W. E. Jan. 2, 1937, No. 112. [Class 80 (ii)] A balancing device for propeller shafts comprises a ring 24 having radial holes 25 adapted to receive plugs of lead or other suitable substance. In order to retain the plugs in place the holes are recessed or undercut. The ring is secured to a part of the shaft 19 which has been reduced in diameter by swaging.
