[Class 38 (iv)] Electromotive force.-An automatic voltage regulating system comprises motor driven transformer tap-changing apparatus in which energisation of the tap changing motor is controlled by switch contacts operated by a rotary apparatus connected to a rejector circuit comprising a parallel arrangement of a saturable choke and a condenser energised in accordance with the voltage to be controlled. The rotary apparatus may be a dynamometric system, a Ferraris system or an asynchronous motor having two windings in the circuit of one of which the rejector circuit is placed.
