Abstract

511,458. Nesting chairs. VAUGHAN, E. Feb. 25, 1938, No. 5937. [Class 52 (ii)] A nesting or stacking chair has a back, with or without arms, adapted to be folded down on the seat, and the internal dimension x, Fig. 1, between the legs at the lower part is equal to or greater than the external: dimension y over the legs at the upper part, so that one chair may be stacked upon another with the folded back between the seats. The base or leg section of the chair comprises side frames 5 of plywood, the upper part 5a of each frame being rectangular in form and of such a size as to fit between the lower part, forming the legs, of the side frame of the chair above.
