Abstract
511,147. Hair-waving apparatus. EUGENE, Ltd., and KROPACSY, C. Feb. 10, 1938, Nos. 4266 and 10167. [Class 131] Hair to be wound upon a curler rod l passes between a pair of brushes or the equivalent a<1> removably mounted, by screws f, in holders .b, the rod l being held in position by a plate j hinged at k to the lower holder b and provided with a tail j<4> engaged by a leaf spring m. The holders are slidably connected and are separate d against the action of a spring or springs, by pressing finger pieces h<1>. The springs may be replaced by endless elastic bands embracing the holders. To ensure interpenetrating of the bristles of the brushes, the bristles may ' be of irregular lengths or may be inclined with respect to the stocks. To effect a helical winding of the hair on the curler rod the brushes may be slightly tilted in the holders, by means of leaf springs, so that the brushes grip more firmly the hair nearest the scalp. A permanent waving lotion &c. may be applied to the brushes. According to the first Provisional Specification the brush holders may be hinged together.
