Abstract

459,416. Hair - curling appliances. SOLOMON, N. L., 2802, Avenue K, Brooklyn, New York, U.S.A. Feb. 20, 1936, No. 5203. [Class 131] In a hair-curling device of the type comprising two pivoted members which grip the hair and on which the hair is wound and a wire or cord loop pivoted to these two members for holding the wound tress in place, the loop and pivoted members are detachably connected. For this purpose one of the members 10 is formed as a perforated cylinder and the other 11 as an arm fitting on to it and provided with lugs 13 having perforated bosses 15 which can be sprung into openings 16 in the member 10 to form a pivot. The wire loop 18 is formed with overlapping ends 21, 22 which can be sprung into the openings of the bosses 15. The loop 18 carries a ball 23 of rubber &c. which fits into the end of the member 10. A modification is described in. which the wire loop 18 is replaced by an elastic cord. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 422,877 and 436,767.
