[Class 131] A hair-curler comprises a tubular member 15, Fig. 1, having an elongated slot 17 forming two opposite arcuate prongs, and a hair confining member consisting of arms 23 carried by a collar 20 rotatably mounted on the tubular member. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the arms 23 and collar 20 are made from one piece of metal and the collar is secured between an enlargement 13 and bosses 22 on the tubular member. The enlargement may be knurled to facilitate turning the tubular member within the hair confining member which functions as a holder during use. Stiffening ribs 16, 24<1>, may be formed on the prongs of the tubular member and on the arms of the hair confining member. In the modification shown in Fig. 6, the hair confining member is in the form of a loop 28 hinged to the collar 20 and has a retaining device consisting of a resilient ball 31 adapted to wedge in the space between the prongs of the tubular member. A further modification is shown in Fig. 9, in which two concentric tubular members 15, 30 are used and are relatively rotatable so as to clamp the end of a tress of hair between them.
