Abstract

510,966. Refrigerating. ELECTROLUX, Ltd. Feb. 11, 1938, No. 4369. Convention date, Feb. 13, 1937. [Class 29] Absorption systems.-In a continuous cycle, inert gas system the welding operations are facilitated by dispensing with cooling fins on the air-cooled tubular spiral or helical coils constituting the absorber 18, 19 and the condenser 14. The coils are each formed by winding, for example on a winding machine. The absorber may comprise a helical coil having its axis inclinded to the vertical, or a plurality of tubular spirals or helices displaced laterally with respect to one another, and the individual turns of the coils are spaced at a minimum distance from one another of 3 mm. The lower opening of the coil may be screened by a cover plate, and guide plates may direct the flow of air. The absorber and condenser coils may comprise any number of units wound from a standard tube; they may comprise a number of finless spiral coils all connected at their upper ends with a g,as conduit and at their lower ends with a liquid conduit.
