Abstract
510,737. Regulating compressors. MASCHINENBAU AKT.-GES. VORM. EHRHARDT & SEHMER. March 17, 1938, No. 8309. Convention date, Aug. 23, 1937. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts. Sept. 19, 1938.] [Class 8 (i)] [Also in Group XXIX] A regulable amount of the compressed air may be passed back from the cylinder to the suction conduit through a valve opened to a continuously variable extent; the connection 16 to the suction conduit is controlled by the compressor piston and the area of the air passage varies linearly with the valve lift. Thus the valve 15 may be cylindrical and the part 26, located in the water-cooled jacket of the cylinder, may be a truncated paraboloid. Alternatively, this valve may be paraboloidal, and the part 26 cylindrical.
