Pivoted to the frame c at e<4> is a frame e, carrying a chuck or holder e<1> for the hub f, which lies between the wheels a, d. The wheel d is driven from the polishing-wheel spindle a<2> by a belt a<3>, a gear box h and a belt i, and the frame c is moved normally towards the wheel a by a weight d<1>. Pivoted at c<3> on the frame c is a handle c<2>, which serves to move the wheel d into contact with the hub f to rotate this, and to move the hub against the polishing wheel, the handle c<2> also has a projection c<4> engaging between lugs on the arm b@ so that transverse movement of the handle moves the hub and the wheel d axially across the polishing-wheel. The frame e is normally urged away from the wheel d by a spring e<3>; a projection c' by its contact with an abutment b<3> limits the outwards movement of the frame c.
