Abstract

510,469. Controlling combustion in boiler furnaces. SATCHWELL, L. Feb. 21, 1938, No. 5474. [Class 51 (i)] An automatic regulator for controlling the air inlet door 12 of a boiler furnace comprises a heat sensitive member 1 located vertically in the boiler and having a rod 5 connected to one end of a lever 6 pivoted at 8 and located in a protecting casing 10 which overhangs the boiler wall. The other end of the lever 6 is connected to a rod 13 which is free to rotate on the lever and passes through a protecting tube 14. The lower end of the rod 13 is connected to the air inlet door 12 by a link 15 pivoted to the rod 13 and air inlet door. The link 15 is disposed substantially parallel with the hinges of a cleaning door on which the air inlet door 12 is mounted. The fulcrum 8 of the lever 6 is vertically adjustable.
