Abstract
509,740. Infusion apparatus. REINHOLZ, F. Nov. 30, 1938, No. 34900. [Class 129] A coffee, tea or like infusion apparatus comprises a boiler a with an immersible coffee basket m having a closed bottom t which in the upper position co-operates with an internal flange piece s to form a partition across the boiler so that the coffee is not subjected to any direct steam action before being immersed ; the basket is lowered into the liquid and then rotated, for instance, by a hand crank h and bevel gearing g which drives a screw-threaded spindle i, whereby a pin w mounted on the basket by a bracket piece u is caused to descend to the exit of a slot l in a fixed tubular guide k for the basket, whereupon the pin engages the end of the screw thread to rotate the basket. The basket, Fig. 2, is of a parallelogram form having only the inclined inwardly set end walls n perforated. A relief valve c allows steam to escape after passing through tubes f, e. The steam may pre-heat the coffee in a following apparatus.
